Empowering Children in Need

When we first came to this classroom, it was quiet. The children had few books, and some had nothing to write with. But they still smiled at us, as if to say, “We’re happy you came.” We gave them crayons, storybooks, and pencils. Right away, the room changed. Laughter filled the air. Small hands began to draw bright pictures of trees, houses, and the things they dream about. They helped each other, shared colors, and read together. This is why we go out to reach children. Sometimes, all it takes is love, a listening ear, and a few simple tools to bring hope back into a child’s heart.
